Hub - Approving a group

As a hub user you are responsible for approving and reviewing the group records in your hub area. Hubs can have as many users as are needed. If you would like to add an additional hub user please open a ticket

When a new group is submitted in your area you will receive an email notification alerting you to the pending group. You need to log in, review the group and either approve or reject it.

You will recieve reminder emails every six days until the group is either approved or rejected.

When a group is approved they will receive an email welcoming them to the movement and signposting to some support resources. If you would like to customise this email then please add your text to this welcome email document

If you have trouble accessing that document then ensure that you are a member of the Hubs group

Hub - Reviewing healthchecks

Groups in your hub area may complete the online Healthcheck  When they submit the scores this will be forwarded to you by email. You can also view reports of these scores in the dashboard

Depending on the results you may identify particular areas where groups in your hub area need support.

Hub - Editing a hub page

hub-pages.png

Each official hub has a page on the site where you can link to your websites or social media. Please help us to keep these up to date and accurate!

You can edit the page by visiting your hub page and pressing the 'edit' button, or through the dashboard

Hub - Annual activity checker email & process

As you know keeping group records up to date is a challenge. We have developed an annual 'activity checker' function with funding from Transition Together.

We are in the process of enabling this on a per-hub basis so the global figures do not yet represent the full extent of the movement.

The process is:

Activity checker is currently enabled on

London & South East

England & Wales*

Scotland

Austria

Australia

Paris

No-hub areas

Réseau Transition Suisse romande

Croatia

Japan

Belgium-Brussels-Wallonie

Mexico

Portugal

United States

We are seeking agreement to turn it on for the other hubs.

If you would like to turn on the activity checker for your hub;

1) Join the Hubs Group space if you haven't already (this grants you access to the document below)

2) Check the translated text of the email add your preferred text if required.

3) Submit a message using this form requesting the feature is turned on

English version of the email

 Please update #post_name#

Hello #post_name#

We are emailing you because you are listed as an official contact for a Transition group. We want to make sure that your group’s information is up-to-date, and we have the correct contact details for you.

For years, transitiongroups.org has been the place to go to find Transition groups and get involved - This information is vital to ensure we can contact you about training and other opportunities, and to understand our movement and how to best support groups.

This process should take you less than five minutes.

If your Transition group is still active, or you would like to delete the record to stop these reminder emails:

If you do not click 'save' we do not know that your group still exists and we'll continue to send these reminder emails until the button is pressed, or you delete your group.

If you have any questions - reply to this email..

Thanks!

Sam Rossiter and the Transition Network team

*Due to the historical context of Transition Network having held some hub functions in the UK there is an anomaly of 'England and Wales' being represented on the map as a hub, when in fact it is not yet a formal hub. We have done our best to represent this as an anomaly. We hope and anticipate that a hub will emerge in England and Wales soon.

Hub - Email contactablility of groups

The Transitiongroups.org has several email functions. For example

It logs the success or failure of emails sent from the site in a email deliverability report

Please keep an eye on this report to ensure that groups in your hub area are contactable. If they are not then you may consider deleting them or reaching out to them on other channels to update the email.

If you find an email is failing, but you have another alternate contact email then you can add that to the group.

When logged in as a hub on each group page you will see the 'group editor' box to the right. Here you can add alternate email contacts you have for a group.

When you do this the person is invited to create an account.

Hub - Embedding maps on your sites

embed.png

On this page https://transitiongroups.org/account#nav-maps/

You will find the code to embed the map for your hub.

It is possible to embed a translated version of the map by adding a two letter language code to the link you embed by adding the two letter language code.

The example code provided to embed a map for the Japanese hub is

<iframe src="https://transitiongroups.org/map/?hub_name=japan" width="100%" height="550px" frameBorder="0" style="display: block;" allow="geolocation 'src'"></iframe>

You can find the two letter language code by changing the site to your preferred language using the drop down and then looking at the URL. So if I change the language to Japanese, I see the URL changes to

https://transitiongroups.org/ja/

So I just need to edit the provided embed code to be

<iframe src="https://transitiongroups.org/ja/map/?hub_name=japan" width="100%" height="550px" frameBorder="0" style="display: block;" allow="geolocation 'src'"></iframe>

An example of the embed is here: https://reseautransition.ch/nos-prestations/carte-initiatives/
